Kingston have completed Temporary Meeting Rooms for Google in Barcelona
The project was to create temporary meeting rooms for the Mobile World Congress for Google at FIRA Barcelona, Grand Via. The rooms were assembled on an old RAF base in StageOne’s hanger in York then carefully disassembled and loaded on to wagons, it was then driven to Barcelona. The whole meeting room, 20m x 20m x 6m, was then reassembled in the exhibition centre.
The key challenge of this project was drying time for the tape and jointing part of the works, a necessity for us to meet the deadline. To overcome this, we used the normal jointing materials but worked late hours so the areas would be dry for the following day. We had to complete the works by noon on Sunday the 18th of February to give the other trades enough time to meet their deadlines.
Speaking about the Project, Phil Bartley, Operations Director, Kingston North East “this was an amazing project to work on, it was challenging, complicated and outside anything we have done before and I am extremely proud of what we achieved and delivered for the client”.
The whole project was completed within 10 days including everything from the steel frame to the hovering carpets. It will have people walking through the android door from Monday the 26th of February. This is the first project that Kingston have completed in Europe an what an incredible project it is.
