Kingston Midlands Complete JCB Golf Academy & Country Club Project
Kingston Midlands have recently completed their drylining and ceiling package as part of the new state of the art exclusive JCB Golf and Country Club development in Rocester, Staffordshire. Kingston were awarded the internal fitout of the contemporary Club House and Academy by main contractor, B&K Building services. The project was split into two stages over a 28-week period. The first stage saw the delivery of works being completed to the Golf Academy and the second was the clubhouse.
Kingston were responsible for the internal fit out of both buildings which included, metal stud partitioning, dot and dab, taping jointing and skimming throughout. Also, Kingston delivered the MF ceilings and suspended ceilings. This work provided changing facilities, dining/conference areas along with a kitchen and bar area.
The ceiling in the dining/conference area required a high-level of skill and workmanship due its gradient design; the sloping nature of the ceiling, the highest point being 4 meters and lowest being 2.7 meters. To achieve the gradient, precise cutting and setting out along with expert workmanship delivered the flawless ceiling. Working alongside the lighting contractor, to accommodate their detailed light fittings, Kingston were asked to create a ‘snooker flat table’ finish. Kingston succeeded in the installation of the ceiling, achieving its sloping nature without any cambers providing a complete flat finish, pleasing both the main and lighting contractor.
‘Our teams worked hard together to ensure our work reflected the premium nature of the JCB brand and ensured a high-quality finish was achieved throughout both the club house and golf academy by using quality materials and workmanship.’ Murray Bonser, Business director of Kingston Midlands.
